Behind the handcrafted poster for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom
GKIDS has released a behind-the-scenes featurette showing how the poster for Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom was developed from an initial concept into a physical, camera-ready composition. The artwork uses a vintage horror-film approach built around Shaun's mad-scientist role, and the footage follows the construction and arrangement of the practical elements rather than treating the poster as a purely digital design job.
The featurette also identifies several departments involved in translating the idea into the final image. Animation director Claire Rolls, photographer Richard Davies, director of photography Charles Copping, puppets team leader Will Harding and GKIDS design manager Cynthia Segal discuss the process, showing how animation, puppet fabrication, lighting, photography and distribution-side design were coordinated around Aardman's handcrafted visual language.
