BlinkInk's Bake Off title sequence mixes stop-motion prime lenses, icing-sugar multiplane and 1000fps eggs

Cinematographer Daniel Morgan and director Isabel Garrett (BlinkInk, for Channel 4) combined three separate capture methods in one minute for The Great British Bake Off's 2025 title sequence, "The aBakening": a stop-motion unit shooting 3D sets and puppets on Canon R bodies with CP2 prime lenses, a live-action unit on an Arri Alexa 35 with Leica R glass (including 1000fps slow motion for a 'galactic' egg-yolk shot lit with Astera tubes and a 2k tungsten key), and a 2D multiplane unit shooting printed artwork that was hand-painted with icing sugar to kill its printed sheen before being racked under the camera -- the same matting trick Aardman has separately documented using on Plasticine. A timelapse cinnamon-bun sequence needed its lighting programmed across 75 frames to synchronise with a real 20-minute bake.
