ETER Anima Festival closes inaugural competition call with 129 submissions

ETER Anima Festival has closed submissions for its first edition after receiving 129 films from Poland and other countries. The festival will run in Łódź from 30 September to 3 October 2026, with competition screenings selected from films produced after 1 January 2025. Its international main competition keeps a dedicated stop-motion category alongside a separate 3D animation category, while additional competitions cover Polish animation and films for children.

The new event explicitly continues the Łódź history of StopTrik while widening the programme to encompass a broader range of animation. ETER describes its approach as preserving attention to materiality, frame-by-frame craft and authorial cinema while adding computer animation, visual experimentation, feature films, workshops, masterclasses and filmmaker meetings. The official competition rules list puppet, cut-out, clay, mixed, experimental and hybrid animation among eligible techniques and provide a specific Best Stop Motion Film award.
