Focus Features' "Two Years in the Making" production notes for ParaNorman describe the puppet department's material build in the studio's own words -- "All of our puppets are made up of silicone and foam latex and resin, and then inside they have their metal" -- plus the zombie characters' mechanical faces (rubber and silicone skin over internal clockwork gears) and the roughly 60-person puppet department that built each hero puppet over three to four months.
