Frame by Frame at the Center for Puppetry Arts puts stop-motion puppets from Corpse Bride to Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio on public display

Atlanta's Center for Puppetry Arts opened Frame by Frame: The Art of Stop-Motion Animation on 2026-08-07, running through 2026-11-01: more than 80 original puppets, sets, artifacts and production materials on loan from the Walt Disney Archives, Warner Bros., Netflix and other studios and private collections, representing artists from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Named works include Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie, Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio and James and the Giant Peach. Curator Emily D. Myers: "Stop-motion animation exists at the intersection of puppetry, sculpture, filmmaking, and performance. This exhibition celebrates not only the final films audiences know and love, but also the extraordinary handmade artistry behind every frame."
