How Scale Model Studios shot a one-take rotating build reveal for Bristol's Aviva Arena

Dragonframe's showcase blog profiled Scale Model Studios' stop-motion preview film for Bristol's Aviva Arena (opening late 2028): a hand-built 1:500 scale model with 3D-printed interior seating and a segmented roof so the solar panels animate separately, mounted on a lazy-susan turntable divided into millimetre increments. Director Jennifer Kidd synchronized that turntable with a motion-control rig so the camera travels the full build in a single continuous take, then deliberately slowed the closing shot to let the animator step into frame. Kidd named the core challenge as calculating scale, turn, and timing against the rig closely enough to complete the whole move in one take -- and, per a companion interview, the studio proves moves like this in CAD/Blender before the physical model is built, to keep late changes cheap.
