Annecy 2026 (June 21-27, 50th edition) delivered major stop-motion milestones. (1) Brothers Quay (Stephen and Timothy Quay) received Honorary Cristal Awards for decades of surrealist puppet animation. (2) Aardman celebrated 50th anniversary with a major masterclass; announced Let's Go Timmy! (BBC CBeebies 2027) and Danger Delilah (in development); teased Pokemon Tales footage. (3) LAIKA debuted Wildwood footage and exhibition; Travis Knight's first Annecy appearance; Wildwood opens Oct 23 2026. (4) Netflix + Guillermo del Toro + GOBELINS Paris stop-motion studio in planning phase (announced Oct 2025), tribute to Mark Gustafson. (5) Shaun the Sheep: Beast of Mossy Bottom new trailer ahead of Sep 18 release. Aardman dominated this edition.
