Annecy 2026 stop-motion wrap: Cartoon Physics, Into the Forest, Please -- plus Aardman's Let's Go Timmy! and Frankelda credits confirmed
This week's sweep confirmed the catalogue is already current on the major Annecy 2026 stop-motion storylines: Into the Forest (Antonin Niclass) won the Young Audience Award, Please (Anna Mantzaris) took the Jean-Luc Xiberras Award for a First Film, and Oscar-nominated duo Ru Kuwahata and Max Porter's new short Cartoon Physics (Miyu/Helium/Ka-Ching) was in official selection -- now added with full production credits. On the studio side, Aardman's Let's Go Timmy! (Mossy Bottom spin-off, 30 x 5-min for CBeebies) and Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom were both already catalogued ahead of Aardman's 50th-anniversary press push, and I Am Frankelda's (Cinema Fantasma) full crew -- Ambriz brothers, Beto Petiches, Bruce Zick, Kevin Smithers -- was verified as complete. Two titles surfaced by the sweep, The Violinist and Iron Boy (Annecy's top prize winners), were not added: neither has confirmed stop-motion technique sourcing yet.
