StopTrik announces 68-film 2026 official selection; PFCAT's expanded lineup pairs Paul Reubens' final performance with a LAIKA panel

The 16th StopTrik International Film Festival (Maribor, Slovenia, 23-27 September 2026) announced its official selection: 29 titles in the Stop Motion Animation competition alone, drawn from 407 submissions and spanning film schools and independent artists across more than 20 countries. Separately, Portland's PFCAT festival expanded its 2026 animation lineup around a stop-motion-heavy slate: Paul Reubens' final on-screen performance appears in the 3D animated short 'The Crown with a Shadow and the Search for Self,' while a dedicated panel brings LAIKA artists to discuss the studio's filmmaking process alongside screenings of the already-catalogued features Memory Hotel (Heinrich Sabl, 25 years in the making, PFCAT's Best Animated Feature winner) and The Lure of Ponies (Beck Underwood's directorial debut, a PFCAT Special Jury award winner).
