Cartoon Brew debuted the trailer for The Gazelle Gazette on 6 October 2026. The Chilean short is directed by Simón Bucher and Cote Ramírez and follows Gisella Cortés (Macarena Barros), a promising runner whom the press turns into 'The Gazelle' until the athlete starts to disappear behind the persona. Bucher and Ramírez first made it for the 48 Hour Film Project Santiago in 2025, then expanded it: frames were printed on different kinds of paper, worked over by hand and combined with pixilation and stop-motion. Cristóbal León of Diluvio, the studio behind The Wolf House, produces with the two directors and Francisco Cortés. The expanded film has its world premiere in the Animamundi section of the 33rd Valdivia International Film Festival (12-18 October). Bucher also animated the pixilation sequence in Denominación de Origen, which we covered in September. The film is now in the catalogue with its four credited makers.
