Inside Aardman exhibition keeps stop-motion process visible through Young V&A run

The Young V&A exhibition Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends (12 February - 26 November 2026) gives Aardman's stop-motion process a long public-facing institutional presence, built around original models, sets, storyboards and hands-on animation activities, with Wallace & Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and Morph used as access points into the studio's craft history (The Guardian, 10 Feb 2026). Later coverage in The Conversation drew on the show's own exhibition text to detail specific craft workarounds: clingfilm doubled as water in the earliest Morph shorts (from 1976), individual lentils were pressed into the miniature moon-buggy's bodywork on Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Day Out (1989) to read as weathered rivets, and icing sugar was dusted onto Plasticine models to kill their shine for a convincing matte finish.
