LAIKA's studio book confirms a digital-first replacement-face pipeline, previews Wildwood

LAIKA published its first studio-authorised book, LAIKA: The Magic Behind a Stop-Motion Dream Factory (Ozzy Inguanzo, foreword by Mark Salisbury; Rizzoli, released March 10, 2026), covering two decades of production from Coraline through Wildwood. The most durable fact for a production record: rapid prototype production manager Maya Holmes describes the studio's replacement-face pipeline as now digital-first rather than hand-first -- "We've now moved away from the hand-sculpted process and they do CG sculpts of the maquettes that we print using our 3D printers." The book also previews puppets built for Wildwood, LAIKA's first release in seven years (due October 2026), though it does not publish a face count for that production.
