MOTK Capture adds a native iPhone still-save path while keeping its browser and Windows beta

MOTK Capture is the public identity for this independent stop-motion product. Stage 01 provides a cyan-and-amber shooting instrument with a large camera stage, editable exposure filmstrip, transport deck, independent browser recovery, Windows profile and release cycle. It remains separate from MOTK Shoot and cannot silently open or overwrite a MOTK Shoot project.

The browser and Windows beta keeps the core of stop-motion work together: still capture, onion skin, guides, timeline editing, exposure holds, stepping, loop and immediate playback, audio/X-Sheet cues, local recovery, an optional visible capture-folder mirror, ZIP backup and export. Production administration and post-production dashboards are not part of the normal surface.

The repository now also contains an iPhone-native capture target built around AVFoundation AVCapturePhotoOutput. Each shutter press creates fresh photo settings, requests the largest dimensions supported by the active camera format, receives file-ready HEIC or JPEG data, and atomically writes an immutable project original before adding the timeline frame. With add-only Photos permission enabled, PhotoKit adds a copy of the same encoded still to the user's Photos library. If the Photos copy fails, the project original remains intact and the interface reports the problem.

MOTK Shoot 0.4.7-beta.2 separately keeps browser iPhone and iPad capture explicit: its quick camera chooser shows one logical Back and one Front camera, the complete lens list remains in Settings, and a saved image is labelled as a device photo or a live-view fallback. MOTK Capture's native iPhone source has passed source-contract tests, but no iOS binary is advertised yet.
