MOTK Capture Stage 02 rebuilds the app around CAM and STAGE and draws a clear line to MOTK Shoot

MOTK Capture Stage 02 replaces the Stage 01 tab-drawer shell with a camera-first instrument that has exactly two modes. CAM covers everything decided before and between shots: camera source and resolution, manual controls generated from whatever the camera exposes (zoom, focus, shutter, ISO, white balance, exposure compensation), mirror and rotation, and one-tap monitor toggles for focus peaking, clipping zebra and a live histogram, plus chroma-key and anamorphic-desqueeze monitoring. STAGE keeps shooting and editing on one surface, because animators edit while they shoot: a full viewfinder with a large shutter, on-stage onion-skin ghost depth and opacity, grid and aspect-mask toggles, a non-modal reference-layers panel for previz movies, reference photos, primitive guides, garbage masks, pen and text annotations that stay draggable on the viewport and can be keyframed over exposures, and an always-present filmstrip with reorder, holds, duplicate, remove, reverse, ping-pong and undo, passes for multi-layer shooting over the same captures bin, an X-Sheet with per-frame dialogue and a mouth-cue overlay, multi-track audio with a clickable waveform, and movie or ZIP-sequence export. Existing MOTK Capture browser projects open unchanged. The release also states the boundary with MOTK Shoot plainly. MOTK Shoot is the production-connected shooting console: work-area tabs, production and shot-list administration with Google Sheets synchronization, Companion tethering for vendor RAW originals, a WebSocket bridge for external rigs, and editorial and post-production hand-offs toward After Effects, Resolve, Autograph and edit lists. MOTK Capture Stage 02 deliberately ships none of that surface — no production administration, no tethering, no bridge, no post adapters — and instead behaves like a personal camera: set the shot up in CAM, then shoot and edit in STAGE. The two products keep separate browser databases and release cycles, and neither can silently open or overwrite the other's projects; the retired Stage 01 modules remain archived in the repository's legacy folder. Stage 02 is published as source and a browser app under the v0.2.0-beta.1 tag. Its self-test gate passes, and capture, passes, reference layers, audio, X-Sheet and reload recovery were verified in a desktop browser with synthetic frames. No packaged Windows build or device-verified iOS binary of Stage 02 is advertised yet.
