MOTK Shoot redesign puts the camera room first, adds Focus mode and local capture copies

MOTK Shoot 0.4.0-beta.2 reorganizes the free browser stop-motion studio around the camera room. The live shooting surface now stays visible while three clearly named work areas—Assist, Session and Settings—open only when needed. A new Focus mode fills the display with the camera view and Live, Capture and Test; the animator can hide every remaining control until the next tap. The same application still runs on desktop, iPhone and iPad, with compact touch controls on narrow screens rather than a separate phone-only edition.

The release also draws a firmer line around what belongs beside the set. Session can receive a prepared Shot/Take list from CSV, JSON or an allowed context URL, open the next take, record floor and handover notes, and save the session result. It does not require Google Apps Script or create and redesign a production. Immediate pose checking, frame stepping and short playback remain close to Capture, while alternate-cut building, A/B editorial comparison and delivery-package work have left the normal shooting interface. Older project records remain readable for compatibility.

Every capture still receives an automatic recovery copy in browser storage. Compatible desktop browsers can additionally mirror each new JPEG into a folder chosen by the user; because iPhone and iPad browsers do not expose a persistent arbitrary folder, they use Save / Share backup to pass the session to Files, AirDrop or another destination. RAW files, official camera SDKs and trusted production roots remain the job of the optional local MOTK Companion. MEGATOOLS-equivalent media work remains planned rather than discarded: privileged ingest and encoders belong to Companion, while capture review, A/B, marker cutting, conversion, QC and editorial handoff are assigned to a separate cleanly implemented MOTK Media Tools Web app. No private MEGATOOLS/MegaProd code or production material is copied into the public tool family.
