Stop Motion Magazine's obituary/retrospective on Will Vinton (who died October 4, 2018) traces his career from the 1975 Best Animated Short Oscar for Closed Mondays through the making-of short that gave him the trademarked term "Claymation," the Adventures of Mark Twain feature, the California Raisins campaign and The PJs, to his 2002 ouster from the studio he founded after Nike co-founder Phil Knight took control -- the same studio Knight rebranded LAIKA in July 2005.
